The Meh Gala in Perth is Anglicare WA's annual, high-spirited fundraising spectacle—a brilliantly cheeky, tongue-in-cheek parody of the elite Met Gala, but with a deeply philanthropic heart.
500+ attendees
5000 champagne glass clinks
600 extravagant costumes created
One Bin Chicken
Countless heartfelt moments

Traditional fundraising events are losing traction among younger, socially conscious audiences who want more than just a night of speeches and auctions. They want storytelling, spectacle, and cultural relevance.

The MEH Gala tapped into a new wave of philanthropy that was visual, experiential, and Instagram-worthy, without losing sight of its impact and mission to raise funds for Anglicare WA, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting individuals and families in need.
We curated The MEH Gala as a bold hybrid: part fashion spectacle, part charitable statement, part cultural comment. The goal was to redefine what a fundraising gala could look like, blending theatrical, tongue-in-cheek cues with heartfelt purpose.

Held at the Crown Grand Ballrooms, Perth, The MEH Gala was brought to life with the theme of ICONICA, reinterpreting iconic Met Gala themes via local flair.
Vogue gone rogue, the MEH Gala paid homage to art, fashion, and all things Perth proud. Putting the fun in fundraising, and orange carpet was rolled out for paparazzi arrivals, entertainment surprises across the evening, and an invitation for MEH-goers to DIY, up cycle, and invent their style for the MEH’s inaugural foray into the world.
All funds went towards Anglicare WA’s support system that tackles disadvantage through supporting people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity, poverty and inequality, family and domestic violence, and delivers services to improve family relationships, child safety and wellbeing, mental health, and disability support.
